Heartwood is a beautiful place, and we often get requests from photographers to use the grounds for a session to take pictures of brides, babies, families and more. We love sharing our property with others, but we are very busy with our own programs, many of which require solitude and no distraction (such as our meditation programs or silent retreats.) and we cannot have outside guests on the property at the time. Also, it takes time to prepare for photographers as we try to blow walkways and keep the grounds in shape. Therefore we require visitors to make an appointment if they would like to be on the property for anything other than one of our scheduled classes, programs or retreats. For photography sessions, we ask for a donation of $50.00 to help us support the gardens and grounds. If we know you are coming, the gate will be open and we won't be in the middle of pruning the garden or anything else that will encumber your project to assure your pictures are as fantastic as can be. You and your customers are welcome to use our bathrooms in the yoga center, have tea and take your time to get the very best pictures possible on Heartwood grounds.
Students in our yoga programs are invited to take pictures on the grounds whenever they are here to remember their experience with us and enhance their yoga websites or Facebook pages.
"When a moment in front of me appears to be particularly special, whether it be by beauty or experience, I capture it. I usually find a reason to justify taking that photo - symmetry, or color, or contrast - and it's my hope that my photography sheds light onto what I see and do on a daily basis. " - Connor Franta
